Gill Library Group Study Room Policy

Group Study Rooms in Gill Library provide space for small groups of students to use for academic purposes. The Group Study Room Policy is meant to ensure that a clean and comfortable study environment is available on an equitable basis.
Each Group Study Room occupant agrees to comply with
The College of New Rochelle’s Student Code of Conduct and the Gill Library Group Study Room Policy. Not complying can result in revocation of the privilege to use a Group Study Room.
A minimum of 2 people is required for booking a Group Study Room. If Gill Library staff permits 1 person to occupy a study room, the person is to vacate the room if it is needed by a group. Room 114 is an exception to this rule and can be booked by a single person. All Study Rooms must be booked in advance by scheduling a time block on the Group Study Room Reservation page -

Reservations must be confirmed within 15 minutes of booking by responding to an automated email message.
Groups should cancel a reservation they do not wish to keep. If a group wishes to cancel a portion of their reservation, they should contact the Circulation Desk.
A Group Study Room may be booked in 1-hour blocks (not necessarily consecutive) for
no more than 3 hours per day by one person.
Occupants must check in at the Circulation Desk before entering a Group Study Room. A group may remain in a Group Study Room until it is booked by another group.
Rooms may be reserved no more than four (4) weeks in advance.
Users must occupy the Group Study Room on time in order to avoid forfeiting the reservation. Reservations expire 15 minutes after the beginning of the first time block booked.
Gill Library reserves the right to cancel a Group Study Room booking.
Occupants must adhere to Maximum Occupancy Guidelines for Group Study Rooms as listed below and as posted in each room. Chairs may not be moved in or out of rooms.
Group Study Rooms 102 through 106 are not soundproof; to avoid problems with noise, there is the option to book either Group Study Room 115, 120, 121, 206, 212, or 213. Covered drinks are permitted in Group Study Rooms; food is not permitted in Gill Library.
The individual that books the Group Study Room is responsible for leaving the room in good condition.
When vacating, all trash must be placed in bins, and chalkboards or whiteboards must be erased. Personal belongings are not to be left unattended in the Group Study Rooms; belongings left unattended are subject to removal. Gill Library is not responsible for belongings left unattended in the Group Study Rooms or elsewhere in Gill Library.
Group Study Room occupants are to vacate the room 15 minutes prior to the posted closing time or when asked to vacate the room by staff.
Courtesy and civility in yielding the rooms to others is expected when a booking has expired.
